I have a small door in a rural area, with mostly female employees.
I have expressed concern many times about having to close the store alone
Typically I have myself and two other closers
But call outs happen, and yesterday my two closers called out. I could not find a replacement so I closed the store alone. Just me. This is not safe and I have already alerted the store manager I will not do it again. Is anyone else having an issue like this?

Let's face it , Belk does not care if you are closing alone. They only care about the numbers. In my store there is so much descrimination, retaliation and looking the other while some people are allowed to make their own rules. It's almost like being in a gang. And talking to management is like talking to a brick wall because they are the ones allowing it to happen. All in the quest for the almighty dollar. I know I can quit and believe me I am looking around.
There is no reason a big box department store should have a woman closing the store alone. Callouts and not enough staffing is not a valid excuse. That store manager should be fired immediately.
The managers should have went in. Salary for a reason. The minimum amount of people working is 2 for those reasons exactly. I’m 100% sure that the SM could get sh-t canned for things like that.
