Yes reality definitely set in , not waiting tables to make money. Got to move away from toxic culture and ended up with multiple offers . Good luck to you for thinking it’s a great place to work and the only place where people get work and once LR’d will end up on street taking up random gigs.

heh this site is at least a fun reminder that there is some real humanity bubbling up in Cisco

there will always be fodder for posts here...Cisco is still riddled end-to-end with geezers who say NO to challenges, NO to growth, NO to even having fun. There is good news though - Cisco is now irrefutably a D-list company and all of these useless dinosaurs are working their last tech jobs. Sure, maybe someone from Meta or Google also just phoned it in and did the bare minimum to survive, but the companies have stellar reputations (for now). Reality will soon set in...in a year or so we will start hearing from LR'd people that they had to start waiting tables etc just to get some money.

Chuckster and his sidekick Fran are liars so this is the only place to visit to find out what is really happening in the dysfunctional world of Cisco

I truly enjoy visiting this site, some funny comments. Laughter is the best medicine. We all may be very different, but many of us share either the fear of being LR'd; or actually being LR'd.

To those that have yet to take the LR journey; two things. First is never, ever, ever, believe you are safe. I thought I was; great boss, raises year after year. All it took was for my boss to finally have enough of putting up with the baloney at executive level, I ended up under someone vastly different in work ethic and; blamo...I was LR'd.

Secondarily, embrace it if it happens to you. It has been an awesome life journey. I wouldn't have it any other way; it was a roller coaster but so glad it happened.

One last note would be to stop trying to analyze your path and work at Cisco. Do the work, take the paycheck; but do not let the worry take over who you really are. That is the toughest balance, especially for someone who has a serious work ethic. Sadly, serious work ethic is a hinderance anymore it seems; because most companies now see the average employee as a disposable resource.

That is because Cisco itself is la-la-land, blind to the realities. Even been asked to complete best place to work survey in the midst of massive LR. Seriously you couldn't make it up.
