NC Unemployment benefit - when to file?

Trying to seek some guidance on those who have been in the same boat. With severance/package pay, NC unemployment benefit seems to indicate this: In North Carolina, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits while receiving severance pay. This includes any other dismissal payments or wages in lieu of notice pay.

For Nov 15 2024 exit date, does it mean we're not qualified for this unemployment benefit then? Thanks in advance.

" In North Carolina, you may get up to $350 a week in unemployment benefits for up to 12 weeks."

A measly $350 per week? You are better off getting a job at Walmart or McD.
