Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Sunk cost fallacy

Get rid of the fabs.
Take the loss and write offs.
Just focus on design like everyone else and leave the transistor manufacturing to the big boys.

Stop the bleeding!

You made a bad decision Pat.

Intel cost structure is uncompetitive and know that x86 margin is under pressure there is no place to hide.... CRB says the company should not. E broken up, yet he had no solution for Intel's broken business model.

Design isn’t competitive either. The company is done no matter how you look at it.

The problem is the design also has some serious issues. X86 has a limited market and Intel has spent 40 years trying to break out of the x86 prison and has failed every time. All the culture issues are spread across Intel not just the fabs.

Oh aye men! There is a nice foundry network in there somewhere but not 18A / cutting edge that’s just a cash bleed

Intel cost structure and bloat is prohibitive... and this was known when the new CEO swung for the fence and added even more expense... The entire episode is a terrible mess and shareholder class action lawsuits will surely follow.
