Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Talk about adding insult to injury

Apparently, some of the employees who were laid off in Israel were immediately hired by Nvidia with 33 percent higher salaries. If this doesn't tell you what kind of id--ts run Intel, I don't know what will. We are simply serving our talent to the competition on a silver platter.

Left my blue blood behind a year ago due to the 16% effective salary cut at G8. Hired as an IC4 with over a 50% bump. And then the stock more than doubled.

The second best time to plant a tree is now. The best time was years ago.

28 percent for me, but maybe some got a bit more. Others I work with that left and were hired by team green were in the same ballpark for Tcomp. Not looking back.

Im a manager at Nvidia and Im also ex Intel. We hire good people from Intel but many do not pass interviews.

Dude, you're tripping. Yea, Intel's reputation is taking a huge hit but everybody knows that's because of our leadership. It's crazy to think that NVDA, or any other company, would condemn good engineers because they were governed by Intel id--ts. In fact, a quick search shows an article that backs up OP's claim.

This is nothing new - the CPU/SoC teams in JF/AUS/IDC hemorrhaged talent for the last 15 years. Intel was the "farm team" for their CPU (and GPU) competition.

Hiring managers at other companies love hiring competent ex-Intel employees. They're cheap ;). CPU/GPU design and validation talent is still getting snapped up from Intel. Recent decisions Just made it easier for those that bleed blue to finally pull the trigger.

I don't believe you. No competent manager would make such a belligerent statement. Intel has or had many great engineers. It's not their fault if they are/were being misled
& misused by ELT's trickle down incompetence. A lot of brilliance & talent reports to Ann but she hasn't a clue of what to do with it. Her managers are being pointed in the wrong direction or hopping from one project to the next. The bureaucracy in TD is ridiculous. Many times it take days or weeks to complete a DOE and get results when it should take only hours or days.
