Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco still hiring external candidates? Is job ghosting real while economy barely holding up?

Most internal roles are frozen or require senior VP level approval. Hear news on external Cisco hires though, true? More laid offs folks chasing select few jobs.

The number of job postings are at all time for most technology companies, yet very few interviews and even less hiring if any. Most recruiters tell companies are not slowing down their hiring process, just not offering jobs, and re-posting same job every month to collect resumes, and sensing quality of candidates, and economy.

If you check on LinkedIn, most jobs posted there have 100+ applications. What are the odds of getting your resume picked even for the initial conversations? Anyone figured this game?

@2hmm+1vbgOn4h - you're going to love the YouTube video that proves we never went to the moon because when lightning strikes it takes longer for the sound to reach you than the light and since we saw and heard the astronauts at the same time they couldn't be that far away.

You mean AFTER THE ELECTION, we're going to learn a lot of things that many strongly suspected over the last few years.
Such as: 1) economy is skating on thin ice and many stats on it are wrong/manipulated 2) debt markets flashing red because of uncontrolled spending 3) Biden was a house plant the last 1-2 years and everybody covered it up 4) crime has exploded and not reduced, 5) Trump, in a shock surprise revelation, turns out not to be Hi---r and 6) the border situation is even worse than reported

As countries keep developing their workforce more and more jobs will continue to be lost in western countries. Many Indian workers are moving back to India to take on management roles and finish their careers back home. This trend will continue and more Americans and Europeans will struggle to keep their tech and corporate jobs because of the lower wages in developing countries.

I thought we had no reqs in SJC, but check directory under G2->will->Rakesh for a large number of AI hires for something called Hype-fabric! Heard all were ex Juniper. I think the leaders hired their buddies from their old job! And there’s more open in that group too! Heard they’re all going to invent AGI at Cisco!

US jobs at Cisco are almost nonexistent, the Bay Area workforce is being targeted the most.

Catch 22. Too many technology layoffs last few months within Fortune 100 companies. Gap created by AI, and companies needing knowledge workers.
