No effort, stellar performance, overtime, and energy invested will save any of us. Quite the contrary. The more you know, the more capable you are, the more expensive you become. Therefore, you just end up a prime game to be shot down come the next round of layoffs. Just do a bare minimum, and that way, once they unceremoniously boot you, at least you will have no regrets.
