Thread regarding Ford layoffs

TH? I am pi---d off

I am pi---d off. What was said in the TH made sense, and is about a 180 degrees turn from the direction we were going. So why am I pi---d off? Maybe because the company shouldn't lost its way in the first place (I blame you, Bill Ford). Maybe because of the evident manipulation to bring these topics into the conversation (in the QA section at the end) topics which are important and should be presented in the first slide. Maybe because the way how the upper managers (there is no leadership) confirmed the change in the company WITHOUT acknowledging their contributions in the current disaster due to their wrong policies (is that why you were hiding in the dark stair, Kumar? Were you ashamed of your own part taking the company to the point it is now?). Maybe because saying the changes off hand means they are not important, and we are not going to follow through properly. Maybe because of all the good people that was let go, all that talent and opportunities lost, due to the stupidity at the top. IDK. I just know I am still pi---d off.

As always, a lot of fluff. Someone at the top decided the percentages of sales and costs, probably unattainable, and based on those Farley built a story, a magical story, of how the company will reach greatness and profitability, but no details, no step by step instructions on how to do it. Not even basic Ikea type of instructions on how to achieve the goals. We are going to sell 650K electrical vehicles next year, under a brand that is the King of Recalls, after our CEO publicly said fixing these (quality) issues will take a considerable amount of time, at the same time everyone is expecting cheaper gas prices (since is the number one goal of the upcoming White House administration) and our vehicles prices are among the highest of all. Yeah, right!

Another point that bothered me was the goal set by Farley, not of selling more ICE trucks, nor about reducing recalls, but achieving at least 65% of employees to agree that the company is headed in the right direction. Even before mentioning certain topics during the QA session that may help with that goal. How are we planning to achieve that percentage, Farley? Are you planning on quitting soon? Because that's the only thing most people in this company agree on. And knowing what selfish son of b you are, I doubt you'd ever do that. So what is next? Beatings until morale improves? Forcing managers to force their employees to say they agree with this craziness? Tying the performance bonus to the employee agreebility with the company?

I also noticed your face, Farley, during the QA part. After you answered another "completely random question by a randomly selected employee" (we know is just part of the sketch, just less funny than the sketches your cousin used to delight us with). You turned off "your charm", and let us see how much you didn't like to be there, half scare of people seeing through your BS (mainly Bill Ford), half despising the rest of the people in the room. Are you really that psycho, or is just pure vain? You know what is sad? Seeing people like you, Farley, and Doug, and all the cronies living large at Ford, while watching the Champions list in my screen. We have good people in the company, people that want to do a great job, that want to be proud of working here, and you, Farley, don't know how to harness that power, how to direct that enthusiasm, how to convert will and talent in money, because you are lacking, because you are incapable of filling Allan Mullaly's shoes.

End of rant...

This is the forum I refer people to who are considering a Ford job.

Duh. They promote the id--ts and fire the competent ones. Because they don’t like being told any truths until it’s absolutely too late. Do not put your heart into this company or soul. Get your dollars, experience, and move the he-l on. If HR gives an actual sh-t they would’ve fixed this broken culture and its resulting churn of poor results over ten years ago.

This is the forum I refer people to who are considering a Ford purchase. Quite the eye opener.

Seems like some 'radical candor' is in order.

Just go in, do the stuff, collect your check, and go home. I gave up giving a sh-t years ago when I realized there is no link between my performance and my rewards.

It's worse now. Veiled forced ranking, which has always been a thing, is being crammed down management's throat.

Sc--w their passive agressiveness. Do not give a sh-t. It just upsets you. Go in, do the stuff, get paid, go home. Make them fire you so you have a possible case to sue, or at least they pay you out. That's what they don't want.

Ford won’t sell 650k EVs next year. If anything I’d expect EV sales to be flat or even decline from 2024 levels due to slower car sales and ICE ownership being more favorable (cheaper gas, Trump getting rid of EV rebate, etc). Ford CEO is either an id--t or complete liar (maybe both). Get out while you still can!

I never call into those town halls anymore. Guess I'll need to go look at what happened.

I bought other stocks back in the late 80s and early 90s instead of cars and boats and cruises. Some did very well. So… I’m good, even with the couple of shares of Ford I own.

@izi+1vVmHOK8

You've been holding this piece of cr-p stock since the early 1990s?

Whatever you paid, as soon as the stock is at that again, sell it.

Farley said the fusion was a money loser and doing a fusion again would not be beneficial.

Reminds me how much money does each BEV lose again? How does that compare if we built fusions instead of BEV's today?

Can you tell us what he talked about?

I have a few shares of Ford stock that I bought back in the early 90s and I just look at this web site to see what’s going on in the company.

Why be pi---d off? Wash rinse repeat year after year. If it wasn’t Hackett with his design thinking BS, it’s Farley with his endless spin zone to save his a-s. These people don’t care, why should you? They are milking it as long as they can regardless of how many casualties they stack up along the way. I doubt this keeps any of the executive leadership team up at night.

The damn shame is how woefully blind the Ford family chooses to be to it. They should be the first to care and respond and yet they do everything but try to run a successful automotive company.

If your name was on the side of the building, sure: be pi---d, care. But the dynastic owners don’t give a sh-t, why should you? It’s a job: the minute you take anything personal here the more you will feel resentment. That is no way to live, it will take its toll on you. I used to care, but so many years of dysfunctional leadership pushed me to the point where it was unhealthy. I learned to disconnect, focus on what I personally have influence on. The rest is bullsh-t: stop watching clown halls, filling out surveys. Trust me my friend: everything will improve for you on a personal level.
