Historically, they like to lay people off on the Wednesday or Thursday before payday. Do you think that they are heartless enought to let people go the paycheck before Christmas?

Usually there’s or at least there was an area of respect before xmas … some years ago it was “not in december” but some people has been let go this week …
If your manager is not an assole would anticipate to early december any planned termination in the month.
If you are still working there you deserve to be fired!

Why are you asking this and why do you think Nielsen, or anybody for that matter, owes you anything?
Not only heartless - but these people are souless...... they don't care about you. It's all about cost cutting and improving financials.
