Can anybody tell me what purpose L and D and E merging Energy serve?

The L&D thread comes up at least once or twice a month. Hard to believe this group is still gasping for breath. This group should wave goodbye already.
Someone will pose this question again in a few months and the answer will not change. Those groups are hopeless.
The last L&D GM’s gift of gab, brown nosing and habit of throwing people under the bus is the only thing that kept them afloat for all that time. That and their former boss being too distracted by the finance executive to realize that all they ever did was write checks they couldn’t cash.
Learning and development is not rocket science but you can’t just pick any Tom/K@yla, Di-k/M3r3dith, or Harry/Chr!$ off the street and expect them to lead effective training programs.
There are people with extensive experience and education in this discipline who have been fired, let go, or driven to resign or retire because they posed valid questions about the decisions of three randoms whose backgrounds were in engineering, event planning and theater.
It will take an eternity for the new learning guy to get things on the right track but by then the company will have a new CEO or be acquired.
It’s a real shame that L and D has deteriorated to this point, especially here in Borger.
We had a good training department until Ol’ Gogo decided to fix what wasn’t broken.
The new L&D created during our blessed transformation has completed lots of items.
- Fired two employees with no performance improvement plan.
- Laid off an entire group to replace with incompetent consultants who have now been terminated.
- Fired two Directors for horrendous behavior that was ignored time and time again.
- Replaced several Directors as the organization is failing to succeed under their direction.
- Created loads of chaos for the L&D organization in addition to the P66 organization.
- Created a common template so every single course had to be put into this template so everything had a branded look. Looks like cr-p but branded look. Took consultants over six months to come up with this cr-p template. Another six months to transfer existing courses to the new templates and nothing worked right afterward.
- Created a number of unsuccessful programs that have gone nowhere.
- Delivered unsuccessful Day of Learning, Week of Learning, Month of Learning.
This list goes on and on and on.
And you thought they hadn't done anything!!!
Free L&D from this disaster and let them return to the organization they support. Provide each organization with a degreed, experienced Training Professional.
I don’t know of anything worthwhile that L and D has done or is going to do but, Rodeo Renewed is going to be partially powered by solar panels starting sometime next year. So I guess you could say that Emerging Energy has finally done a little bit.
