Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco’s questionable strategy

The approach Cisco leadership is taking toward the future is baffling. They let go of the experts who knew how to handle complex projects and get things done right. Most were pushed out or allowed to retire, leaving a void. In their place, they brought in people who are all talk and no action. These newcomers are only focused on their own gain. It's disappointing to see.

The last quarterly earnings weren't bad...

All numbers are quarterly year over year:

  • Cisco's revenue is down 5.6% - earnings are down 25.5%.
  • Arista Networks' revenue is up 20% - earnings are up 37.2%.
  • Palo Alto Networks' revenue is up 12.1% - earnings are up 57.1%.
  • Fortinet's revenue is up 13% - earnings are up 67.2%.

Cisco's numbers are definitely bad.

Keep whining. The last quarterly earnings weren't bad so obviously wall Street is buying their current strategy

I hope to have the opportunity to retire. I don't know where Cisco recruited such a bunch of stupid managers who only think about how to sh-t in Salesforce and Sharepoint systems every day. Cisco spent so much money to hire a bunch of data sh-t experts who don't care about customers, don't understand products, and only know how to analyze historical data.

You got rid of who/what works and replaced it with a bunch of NOTHING.

The automobile will NEVER replace the trusty horse!

The Macintosh is about 8% of Apple's current revenue. Windows 11, Office 365 and the entire "other" category are well under half of Microsoft's revenue. These companies realized to grow they needed to take on new problems with new solutions.

If you could have been bothered to look back a day or two you'd see essentially the same topic in @OP+1vRkCfV3, and it has been repeated many times during the many layoff cycles.

Despite Millennials and Gen-Zers both thinking they're such the sh-t, the R-E-A-L-I-T-Y is that Boomers/Gen-Jones + Gen-X are the innovators with common sense and excellent work ethic, who CREATED/were here from the start with this company (and so many others), kept things running well, and without them, you are LOST...DONE...KAPUT.

Have fun slinging arrows at the ones who are now gone who actually got sh-t done, while scratching your heads trying to figure out why nothing's moving forward now and in your future. 3rd world dipsh-ts and cluelessy arrogant do-nothings pretending to keep things going doesn't cut it. It all falls apart.

Add in AI and it's a recipe for complete and total FAIL.
You got rid of who/what works and replaced it with a bunch of NOTHING.
Let's see you get out of this one, smartasses.

What makes you think there’s a strategy?

The strategy puts money in leaders’ pockets, not keep you employed.
