Medical at one time was a Benefit but here lately they have dropped to lowest bidder with coverage that is not even worth what they are paying for it
Hopefully if they do it’s effective 1/1/28
I can see it coming in a few years within 5. We the old are set the young new ones would not get the pension. Other companies make up for this by increasing the 401k match but only for the newbies. One thing to remember the pension money is only part of it. The most important part is the continuing medical coverage after retirement. So you retire at 60 with your 401k and no continuing medical. You will have to get a policy on your own for five years expensive 1000 or more. With the exxon pension you pay 300 for two people. Retire at 65 no problem as you have to get Medicare anyway. Good luck to the next generation. I saw it end for GE and other companies and it was not good for the employees.
I could see them ending for new hires possibly. Most of the younger generation don’t plan on working until they are 60+ so no reason to bait them with the promise of a pension.
