What happened to the sort of great decisions like Meraki??
It's ironic that they were a pittance compared to what Cisco spent on customer found defects in a single year. The hardware is low end which means the only real value was the management software, something that Cisco has failed at in so many ways over decades.
As systems get more complicated acquisitions become more difficult to integrate. Cisco can't keep buying bigger and bigger square pegs and failing to hammer them into a round hole. It's far past time to create a functional internal development organization.
Wow - and to think Cisco could have acquired Z-Scaler instead of spunking $28B on Splunk...!!!
Like worse than Scientific Atlanta or NDS level bad!

Asleep at the wheel???
Yes, Please do. One less competitor for Palo Alto.
Sorry, We’re all Splunked out.
Who is JC's son-on-law that was brought up earlier?
Relax guys, total market cap of zscalar is 32 Billion. So rough estimate, cisco will have to shell out at least 40 Billion for zscalar.Cisco doesnt have that kind of money and if they manage it by borrowing it in a high interest rate scinarios, it mostlikly bankrupt the company.
On the hindsight, instead of splunk, if our leaders had opted for zscalar, that would have been a much wiser decision. Splunk is a tech in decline and zscalar is in a high growth tregectory.
Someone rightly said, no one can stop a bad idea whose time has come.
