This is the 5th round of layoffs in just a year. They have cut our benefits, raises, and wages. Maybe it's time... would anyone be willing to help if some of us started the process?

Decatur needs to look into it! Scare the sh@$ out of them.
I wish we had a union in Clinton
Solventum just signed a contract with the United Steel Workers (USW) out east. 3% wage increase, less mandatory overtime, bump in pension/401k. Not for everyone, but there is a big difference in wages for 3m union vs non-union employees. Right now there is about a $10.00 an hour wage gap between union and non-union employees. Not BS, look it up on the 3M hiring website.
The USW has white collar, including teachers, professors, doctors and nurses. Not just blue-collar workers.
May help with the layoff process.
But you have to vote to have a union and that would be a battle.
Up to the workers. When do they take a stand?
Yes, it is time for collective bargaining.
Unions s*ck and are bad in their own ways. The last place I worked that unionized there was zero improvement to the benefits or wages but we all had to pay union dues and all the cr-ppy coworkers stuck around alot longer before they got rid of them.
Sadly if results are not up to wall street’s expectations, not sure a union will be able to prevent layoffs and cuts.
Assume there would be union ‘dues’. Is everyone ready for another payroll deduction? As far as white collar unions, I’d talk to some teachers to see if they see value in a union. I know many who feel the union does nothing for them and is just another payroll deduction.
We have a union in Germany. When there is a 3M layoff, we are 6-12 months behind for a reason: the union negotiates all the details and our severance packages with the company. We typically receive several months of paid non-working time, one month per year severance and there are programs to find another colleague who originally wasn’t affected but would be happy to leave 3M instead of yourself and take the package, so you can stay.
Do it, go for a union!
Yes! It is high time for people to join unions everywhere, at all levels, and in all occupations. Not just blue-collar workers, but white-collar workers too.
Corporations routinely collude to set the terms of employment, they call it 'benchmarking'. There is no reason why workers shouldn't do the same.
