Operational Excellence
They are supposed to be problem solvers. A team of people that take on the organizations problems and solves them in a measurable way. So they should be able to show results by gaining the organization more revenue or time etc. or they are able to make something more efficient and then the org can cut heads.
But this team hasn’t shown any results to speak of. They are a massive cost to the company. These people are highly paid - I would estimate on average they make around $130k a year plus benefits. Last I knew the team was around 15 people or so. That’s a big cost to not deliver any results.
They worked on a Provider Enrollment revamp project that offered some automation to solve some issues. But it has been a massive failure.
They are supposed to be used to help with things like all of the corrective action plans that Gainwell is on with all the states. Around 80% of the states have the org on a corrective action plan due to poor performance. Gainwell su-ks at what they do. They miss the majority of their SLAs. Can’t deliver anything they falsely promise.
But then again the entire organization doesn’t deliver any results and they steal money from the states just so they can not deliver.
But I digress. I can see why the org would want to eliminate this OPEX team.
Cutting this team would save them around $3-$5 million a year.
The OPEX team would have to save the company $5 million year over year to just break even and justify their existence. And they haven’t delivered anything.
