I feel like I'm currently training my replacement

I might just be paranoid, but that's how it feels. I'm getting less work and my main duty right now is to train the new guy. How fu---d am I?

@7pen+1vFd0w6c at least you are "safe" until the end of 2025, I was hoping payroll was safe for the whole year, we are only good for the 1st quarter. They had a "Career" call for us, told us to apply to positions within L2-L5, but there are no open positions for us. I am holding out for that package.

Facts! They put me on a project that ultimately replaced the “activation” teams. My next project was in sales integration and now I’m automating my current team’s work. We were told we were “safe” until the end of 2025.

Might as well be pi-ping out the talent. Desperately looking for a way out.

Something similar happened to me.

There was a point where my team stopped asking me to take on new projects / assignments and effectively had me work with an offshore team to automate my regular workload so that it would "free my time up up for more value add projects." Needless to say the value I ultimately added to the company was being removed from the company via a layoff.

In hindsight, this process of brain draining me took about 3 months, so my guess is that layoffs are planned, and people are targeted many months in advance. Put another way, your career at PEP already has one foot in the grave before you ultimately come to realize you are done.
