Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

A job's a job

I don’t love this place, and most days I want out, but to be honest, I’m just grateful to have a job. A friend, really qualified, is still struggling to find something after being let go months ago. It makes me think twice about leaving.

A career is a career. It may be less wise park it with a company that’s in decline.

It depends on your skills. I don't know everybody, but many who were layed off last November found new jobs quickly. I was one of them. Good luck.

The job market does feel like musical chairs. It's easy to get pestimistic, but if you've got bills to pay keep the job, update your resume and be looking. Odds are 50/50 on Viasat going bankrupt. The money making stuff will stay but the oh-shnikes-pink-slip hatchet ain't a scalpel... Watch out for you, not your management.
