Philly store unionizing

Hope it happens want to see the union busters back in locations again. Even if it doesn’t happen hopefully costs the company money to pay people go out and try talk stores out of it. Global is not on your side if they don’t want it then it is most likely what is best for TMs.

Whatever the higher ups don’t want is what is most likely in the best interest of the TMs. If you are forced to sit in on an anti union class just stare blankly at whoever talks to you ask no questions and don’t respond to anything they say.

LOL Wow.
Oh boy...
Prepare yourself for anti union propaganda, meetings 24-7 and questionnaires for the next 6 months straight.
Also, I predict they will CLOSE the Philly store. AMZ is not about to let this take hold, not for one second. They'll claim it's "Low Sales" or some other made up nonsense.

Vote is January 27th. Must feel like an eternity for those TMs enduring the harassment and intimidation tactics....

When is the vote? Asking for a friend. A Store in dc/va/md reaching out to pcc for guidance to start union. You found out here first. Good luck. MA is with you.

In its heyday Whole Foods helped set Organics standards and fundamentally change the grocery industry. Now it is time do the same with labor standards and worker benefits. There may have been a time in Whole Food Market's history when a Union wasn't necessary, but that time has passed. WFM became a publicly traded entity. It tied itself to the stock market's trap of entropic unsustainable growth of ever-increasing profits margins, where it was eventually bought out by Amazon. It was either that or fail. (Just ask Rahodeb) So now Amazon is Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods Market is Amazon. An open door policy is just lip service if the dialogue doesn't generate action. Unfortunately, as it stands, STL's have no more power to drive change in the company than a level 1 TM does. However collective bargaining is a federally protected process that will create an open door where TMs have agency and seat at the very table they serve. A Union is now necessary if workers are to have any hope to hold WFM/Amazon to maintaining its core value of Team Member growth and happiness.

PCC is just the beginning. From ALN to Wild Wild WEX when the Eagles and the Steelers band together, yinz know a Union is next! SHL! SOS! DEV! NWT! EXT! WYW! PLM! JEN! LAN! Good work! Keep those conversations going and get those union card signatures flowing. PA is where unions thrive, keeping Worker rights alive!

All the 20 and 25 year people want out or change yet they are the ones who watched this "great" company decline into a siloed and dysfunctional place we're the store level workers are viewed as expendable meanwhile the competition caught up and will beat them at their own game because nepotism is the end game of hyper chronic over socialized d0p€s and their besties

Good to see some activity on here, let’s make sure global knows that they su-k! Nobody buys into the BS and everyone knows all the things they say are purely for show.

@chupacabra - You would make a great in store Union Rep. Seriously. If you are in Philly then I hope you get involved. At the very least sign a card, and then cast a yes vote.

….....Once upon a time, not so long ago, before the stores and regions were overtaken by the vines of the great Amazon, there was a Team Member Benefit Vote. In fact, Team Members voted on all kinds of things, even distribution percentages of their teams to stores gainsharing pools! You see, Whole Foods acquired a bunch of stores. Then Whole Foods was acquired. Big fish may eat little fish, but never forget, it's the Workers that make up the water.

Good luck Philly.

P.S. I think your logo would make a great cool bean patch!

We don’t need a union the company is so generous and thoughtful to its employees. The praise from Jason and Bill About everyone’s efforts during the holidays really makes it all worth while. And the parts about the record sales during the holidays really makes me feel good in the inside. Knowing the company is rolling in the dough is the best.

If wishes were horses beggars would ride, you'll be much better off if you just unionize. Those benefits are not coming back, but go ahead and put in an ASK TMS ticket about it.

im not opposed to a union but i really think people who have worked here for a long time would be happy if we just returned to the benefits package we had back 2000 and a healthcare system that kept pace with deductible growth(the pwa amount never went above 1800$ before with wholefoods while the deductibles kept growing.amazon is now cutting the pwa amount)..also give team members a couple seats on the board of directors to help decide ccompany decisions that affect employees...they love ramming new bad ideas and policies down our throats...gainsharing and the tips program where we received actual cash on our checks!!!! our tips allocations these days would be much higher than before because we have so many more 365 products to sell
