Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

People Movement Deal: September 15, 2024 LR and internal moves, anyone got hired in internal job?

I tried with so many interviews but seemed they were either ghost jobs or had candidates pre-selected. Why go through the process as a show off and mentally stress everyone for a hope that never arrives, or was never meant to be. Anyone had a different experience or a story to tell? So many internal jobs posting, are they really meant for those LR’d?

Cisco has joined other IT companies on posting fake jobs. They figured it can stir those holding jobs, and make them work harder for fear of loosing job. Recruiters keep their jobs reviewing, scheduling interviews and sending rejection letters. Recruiting is a well oiled machine that works well during LR, and when demand really picks up.

Most of the reqs are created to onboard pre-identified candidates. No matter what you do, unless you are friend, relative or in HM network, there is no chance
Recruiter just do their job of scheduling interviews and email communication of rejection.
Hiring in cisco has become a mafia

Why would you want to humiliate yourself by groveling for another job at the same company which has just 86'd you?

"When someone shows you who they are, believe them."
By laying you off, they already just told you what they think you're worth: expendable zilch.
Maintain your dignity and move on.
Start fresh somewhere else.

You'll have a better chance at a significant % uptick in compen$ation that way, too.

I was impacted in October of 2023, I found a new role by December and I'm still here. Most of the roles on the job boards have a bench of candidates. You need to network with hiring managers and get connected with as many people as you can. I found my role on a new team that was spinning up and hadn't posted anything.

Opening is for the one who knew the decision maker.

Keep trying, I know several people that were impacted by this recent LR that have found new internal positions so to all of the folks on here saying that the new internal posted positions are bogus - that’s just not true.

Good luck
