Thoughts on the big announcement yesterday? Seems like the two of the three amigos got demoted.
New ops SVP will be interesting

Watching Chevron might shed some light on current guesses. Plans to cut 3 billion dollars in "restructuring" plan that includes maybe some lay offs. Keep an eye out for an abnormal amount of upper management suits meeting or flying in .
If Marathon Oil (not Marathon Petroleum) merges in last qtr with ConocoPhillips and lays off 500 or so in Houston, it bares watching for other oil mergers. Are the layoffs just office/admin. ?
Just convincing Union labor to stay on the job during a War could be challenging. Everyone watches refinery news in other countries when past Wars happened. Off premises away from refineries work such as management or labs may not be as concerned at those times. Always hope for Peace times.
Wars always need lots of oil bought and sold. So, layoffs for the working class would be silly at this time. However, management is different and much more unpredictable. No telling how they will posture for likely coming wartimes.
In refining they’re calling this the “Maryann effect”. New CEO just gives the boys whatever they want. Good to be in the club
We still need layoffs if you are asking this question. Check your email or the company intraweb home page.
Can someone elaborate on the changes? Was OOO and did not see them.
It'd be 5 amigos. It is a demotion these guys care about power a lot more than titles.
Demotion? They’re still SVPs just with made up roles. Now it’s four amigos. MPC group think alive and well.
