That was a pointless meeting. Spent a bunch of time talking about dr-g cartels as if it is relevant to our industry at all. Spent some more time talking about how we should celebrate some wins on the IT scorecard, followed by all the headwinds of reducing hundreds of millions by 2026. Spent a bunch more time talking about a d-mb topic of complying to hybrid schedule. Spent hardly any time talking about engine because there’s nothing to say.

If you want to know the TRUTH, take a long hard look at the most downvoted comments … start with the one that mentions ‘preliminary targets’ (wink, wink) …. There’s a reason the HR bots heavily downvoted that one … what you’ve heard is merely the tip of the iceberg.

The number of jobs announced for ENGINE are preliminary targets for the first year…. Read into that what you will.

IT is not going to cut 500 straight up.. SR to Houston will cut about 200, from jobs not being needed or those not wanting to move. ENGINE will consume about 200 daily ops/engineering IT jobs over next few years. CVX is reprioritizing our Cloud Vision by expanding beyond who we currently use, thus requiring much of our current staff to remain. Of course this will be looked at again depending on the outcome of the 12 month project as we determine our new direction. Our new CIO likes certain things his way, so next week our IT LT will be looking into that.

So are we staffing up in Manila and BA too?

If chapters are dead then what is the new model? Agree they add nothing but someone still needs to do the people management side.

Our IT department is overstaffed and organized so inefficiently. This is great!

As someone who attends XLT this is a standard cadence.

This estimate is super low. Expect 35-40% hit so 700-800 at least.

Are the cuts focused on specific chapters?

smart money says they'll go big in 25 then realise they didn't and repeat in 26.

500 is low. Maybe that’s the first wave.

Chapters also officially dead within IT. Which is great. Except unless you’re Indian, Filipino or Argentinian there’s a good chance you won’t be around to see it.
