The CEO of Ford says he's been driving a Xiaomi EV for the past 6 months and doesn't want to give it up

Apparently the Chinese are making great EVs.

Yes, they're currently losing money on them due to upfront investment costs, but they plan to expand production to spread those costs over more vehicles.

Unless the US gets protectionist laws in place, the US car industry won't be competitive.

That Xiaomi EV looks like a 1991 Dodge Stealth, which of course is a 1990 Mitsubishi 3000GT with a Dodge logo. Days of future past, with a gutted powertrain, no gauges, pay-to-play apps and a big battery.

I think Mary would rather support protectionist laws to avoid having to compete with them than invest billions in new technology and products.

Those billions are better spent on stock buybacks to boost the value of executive stock options.
