Thread regarding Northwestern Mutual layoffs

investable structures is a steaming pile

likely will go down as one of the biggest mistakes in NM’s recent history. When nothing gets done and the chaos settles TC will be run out of the place so he can go back to managing the budget of the red lobster or ge or whatever other sc--w up he came from

Mckinsey was involved at the start. Thats true. The whole process is messed up and ineffective. Its extremely manual and repetitive. The report templates are shared across the company with no adaptation possibilities. Nobody knows what happens when reports are sent in. And the coaches are mainly administrative and give unimportant feedback through too many regular meetings. Unclear what the goals of IS actually is.

I was told this was a McKinsey idea, but maybe someone else knows more. There’s a lot of people who have to manage and track insignificant goals because of Investible Structures (“IS”). What a waste.
