I was told that about 150 people across the bank got laid off today, predominantly in the IT/IS and Risk areas.
Aww sorry to hear about this. What departments got affected as I only heard of 2 employees today ??
Here we go again is right. Just got laid off this morning on an informal, group session that was setup 10 minutes before the meeting was to take place. It included others I've never worked with before and managers with no direct reports on the call. I've heard over 150 people laid off today alone. This place su-ks!
Here we go again.

@17at I heard it to be bank wide.
What department or In branch?
What departments?
According to the little birdies, fresh round of layoffs coming.
Does anyone find it strange that they closed all these branches, but somehow are opening new ones now?
It's been very quiet. Anyone know anything?
" highly certain" provide your proof.
Highly certain some are just spreading rumors to spread fear.
Which departments will be affected this round of layoffs? Any insight is appreciated as this is literally making me and MANY others ill.
Have the whispers given any indication if the layoffs in May were more back office employees or were branch employees?
From what I heard, there was supposed to be a total of 3 rounds of layoffs in April. I’m assuming the other 2 got pushed back to May.
What group will the next round hit? When to anticipate this?
What departments? Will there be more layoffs in branch levels?
I support HR from application perspective so I know that more are coming despite what you are being told internally.
They lied to you about being safe. They are already making plans to layoff more but it will be quiet.
More layoffs coming this month.
Yes, it would appear that is the case. IT is gone too. All to outsource to a company called Cognizant in the Philippines.
So is the entire call center dissolved after this last round of layoffs?
Otting is going to sell this bank, hold your stock.
It’s happening!
100 percent sure that IT Service Desk with be outsourced along with other support teams.
Other IT layoffs too.
They are packaging this bank for sale. Get out of that bank while you can but hold your stock.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the Solutions Center being a one-stop-shop. We always had separate departments with separate lines. The people in those departments were generally very knowledgeable. It has not been that way recently. I fear we have been trending this way for a few years.
Thoughts on the whispers regarding CEC being outsourced?
In addition to the branch closures below, there have also been whisperings from management that helpdesk personnel are getting laid off in April and helpdesk operations will be moved to Cognizant. Nobody is safe and it's exhausting. Get out of this horrid place!
Thank you to who posted that link, much appreciated. Upsetting to see so many branches on there and even more upsetting to know that even more will be on there next.
Lake success(in store) bellerose ( small one)
Please see link below and review bulletins by the OCC to see branch closures. It goes back to December of 2024 to see "first wave." I'm sorry to all that have been affected. Best of luck to us all.

There were more announced after that last post. Whitestone, Woodhaven, Flushing In Store, and Rego Park. There’s most definitely more out there that are closing but there’s are only ones that Metro area are aware of as we’re always in contact with them. As for Long Island, Staten Island, Arizona, Florida, and other states, we’re not aware unless they would like to chime in and help us know whose affected.
It’s a lot more branches then this as I see few that are not mentioned. These are just that recently got reported but more were announced this week
Because they’re not making it public, here’s some branches that are closing; 30th Avenue, Bell Boulevard, Atlantic Terminal, Homecrest, Clock Tower and Hicksville. For New Jersey; 46th St, Elizabeth, Ferry, Jefferson, Union, and Livingston. It was also announced that 424 Employees being laid off in Troy, MI in April/May. How’re you going to keep up the customer service you want when you keep letting go of employees and scaring others that they might be next and causing them to leave? Good luck keep this bank open and keeping customers.
Truly this bank is ridiculous. So many branches closing and no one is safe. Not helping relocate anyone yet we’re “vital” to the team…. Okay. I hope this bank goes under and I’ll be laughing when it does.

Has anyone heard about any additional branch closures?
Something is happening tomorrow. Does anyone know?
Yes, one coming in March ‘25 is what I was told.
