4/10 Schedule?

Any insight on how to request and likelihood of receiving approval to switch from my current 9/80 schedule to a 4/10 schedule? I’ve known just a few people (mainly in operations) that have had a 4/10 schedule, and am curious if it is generally available to office folk?

@1mzt Cool story bro. That makes you exactly the only one in all of Chevron in that situation. Congrats, you're one of a kind!

I never even had a 9/80. My entire career was 7/60 or more. I was ranked a 1 for the majority of my career, but my home life suffered, and my kids barely knew me. The Chevron Way.

Slackers are always looking for different ways to slack and still get paid. It should be a college course today if it isn't already since so many of the young workers today are intent on applying all of their efforts on that instead of their actual job.

4/10 was a great loophole because nobody knew if you worked the extra hour back when everyone left at 4pm. Now people come and go at all hours but badges don't lie.

4/10 is where all the WFHs will go to salvage at least one more day a week of not working. No one's around to check if you actually work that 7-5 or 8-6 schedule.

Send an email to your supervisor requesting change from 9/80 to 4/10. Effective date needs to be start of pay period (ie 11/1/24) .These schedules are typically Mon-Thurs. Once you get it approved in writing forward to your Time Administrator(TA). You can find TA information in Workday. Your TA should be able to assist you. While 4/10 are not common they cover core business days, so they are typically approved. Good luck.

Back when 9/80 rolled out there were four options. A and B were 90/8 but alternate weeks. c was 10/80 working five days per week. D was 8/10 as you describe. All were on the official HR policy. Management had to approve each choice.

Ops works 12 hour shifts.
