I am not telling this, but this is actually true. Cisco managed so far due to the legacy it built and acquiring startups.

And where is Cisco in any of that...??
Clouds are remote data centers with more virtualization. Wasn't that the point of Nexus and NX-OS? Are you saying Chambers spinning out and buying back the same id--ts so they could be overpaid while Cisco engineers fixed their bugs was a bad idea?
Too true...
UC used to be Cisco - now its Microsoft or Zoom...
Security used to be No. 2 or 3 - Now its Palo, Fortinet or anyone else...
Networking used to be Cisco - now its an open field...
DC migrated to the Cloud - And where is Cisco in any of that...??
Same for AI....
Cisco does not need any advice from John Chambers, the one trick pony fu-kwit that missed every industry transition going. A monkey in a cage could have led Cisco in the 1990s when the Internet bo-m started.
You mean advice from the same John Chambers who missed Cloud and thought Flip was a great idea?
The last time I went to HPE's website to look at their businesses they didn't even use a variation of the word "network." The operating margins of HPE are poor and Juniper's are even more poor. It makes one wonder how Juniper's even more poor operating margins and revenues which will represent only about a third of HPE will generate 50% of HPE's profits. HPE hasn't reported revenue even equal to it's 2016 numbers since then. It's like they know the rest of their business will continue to sink for the foreseeable future.
Cisco needs to make some serious changes, but nothing I read in this article leads me to believe Cisco is out of the game.
OP acts like they have had some revelation. Ask some old timers how long they have been saying this. Not 2, 10,or even 15 year rookies. This was the scream internally after about the 4th year public. Screamed about the acquisitions not aligning resources, redundancies, etc. JC wouldn't listen, chuckie boy is too arrogant to listen, and don't think the next one will care to listen either. Cisco has become what happens when you get your ELT and business plans from Temu.
No one quite knows what Cisco is trying to be other than talk about AI. It has lost market dominance in all its segments. Used to Be dominant in security and Collab and today lost those sectors. Networks going same way. That alone should tell that Cisco is doing something fundamentally wrong, not hot air from CR.
