Nielsen use to be the company you went to to get the best service and in-depth insights with quality being the main focus but now their data behind their service is questionable at best. They have focused on trying to push out shoddy reports with a skeleton crew and then have a "suprised pikachu face" when clients do not come back for seconds. They fire all the people who are doing the work for peanuts but then keep around middle management types who do no hands on work yet get paid double the salary...it is mind boggling.

38 is probably not too far from what is left after October’s lay off tsunami

‘38’ referred to job OPENINGS— not number of remaining employees

That’s crazy. They used boast of 40,000 employees and that is all that’s left 🤯

Also curious on 38 US employees - that’s not counting the PRS’? I know there are a few US people left…

Yeah mostly everyone U.S based has been laid off or about to be laid off after they find someone from India to replace them.

Sadly it what it is, but look at the bright side you will hopefully find a better job that doesn't offshore every department and pays better than market rate. The job market is rough right now but it will hopefully subside early to mid 2025. I know some people that would've stayed in the company if everything stayed the same as last year. Its good to stay for a few years and then job hob rather than be complacement and stay at one company for X amount of years.

Interesting, Nielsen built three GCCs, but job openings are so concentrated in just one.

Morale is all time low.
Almost everyone is being replaced by indians, sold to other companies, or they see how they ki-l their product.

Can't wait to see the next 100 years lol

"Nielsen is still alive and well, just go into the careers website and see how many jobs are open!"

I hope you're just trolling, otherwise what a load of cr-p. Ok, I'll play your game. As of 10/22, the following jobs are open:

USA: 38
India: 356
Mexico: 31
Japan: 10
Poland: 6
Philippines: 6
Malaysia: 6
South Korea: 5
Slovenia: 4
Indonesia: 3
Australia: 2
New Zealand: 2
Italy: 2
Germany: 2
Greece: 2
UK: 2
Ireland: 1
Netherlands: 1
Jordan: 1

Of those 38 U.S. jobs, 4 are VP/Upper Management, 6 are Misc./Sales, and the rest (32) are Field Reps and Membership Reps.

Scarborough is a fascinating piece of the Nielsen puzzle. So small yet, still maintains a large group of leadership members. Worker ants are all gone but the Queens remain.

Most people trying to find a job before severance runs out this job is the past and isn’t paying future bills. I know most of the Scarborough people feel duped they didn’t get any real life job skills.

  1. People have moved on with their lives.
  2. No-one cares what the company is doing anymore.
  3. Moderators here are terrible and take things down for no reason. This site has lost it's luster and Nielsen folks have gone to other sites.

Actually, on second thought, ‘semi-disaster’ might have been a bit too generous. Let’s be honest, this is shaping up to be a full-scale disaster. I guess I was just trying to be polite, but hey, let’s call it what it is!

Yeah, I imagine most of the folks who got laid off don’t have much interest in posting here anymore. But to be honest, there’s not much to update lately—the plan is still on track, the situation is as complicated and boring as ever. I mean, what is there even to comment on at this point? It’s really just a waiting game now to see what comes of all this work, for better or worse… mostly worse, let’s be real. It’s heading toward a semi-disaster, but hey, that’s the way it goes.
