Termination Agreement and Release - Open letter to Avaya HR

Dear HR,

Despite every bone in body telling me not to sign. I today submitted my signed Termination Agreement and Release. I still believe my former manager exercised his Age Discriminatory bias that resulted in my termination on July 23, 2024. In addition, Avaya unfairly and perhaps illegally, coerced my signature by taking away my income without notice and then leveraged the position they unfairly put me in, by demanding my signature to the most one-sided legal document I have ever read.

It broke my heart to sign the Termination Agreement and Release that will tragically mar all fond memories of the company I loved and dedicated my entire career (47 years).

Based upon my final experience with Avaya I will continue to seek legislation to ensure workers' rights are protected. If the federal government cannot help, perhaps it is time to bring in a union.

Thanks
