Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

The CAO must resign or be fired

After seeing the indictments against P Diddy going back 15 years, the CAO must resign or be terminated. Given the depth and breadth of what’s in the indictments, it is impossible for me to believe that he didn’t have at least some knowledge of what was going on. Massive reputation risk for TIAA in this.

Hi,
I'm a reporter at a fund trade publication that's part of the Financial Times. Would any of the individuals who commented here regarding TIAA's CAO be willing to speak with me? It could be on background or for anonymous attribution.
I'm at 212 542 1252 or beagan.wilcoxvolz@ft.com
Thanks for considering it.

Let alone firing Derek. T has not even addressed this issue, so much for transparency.
Last week we all got an invite for Ask EC, back in the days we had the option to submit questions before the townhall. That option is no longer available?

He was at Bain before being Combs’ CFO…

Given the CEO’s predilection for fame and hip hop, I’m guessing she saw this guy’s greatest qualification for the CAO job at TIAA as a potential bridge for Thasunda to make friends in that world of billionaire black rap moguls.

There are over 50 individuals acting as cooperating witnesses. I would be shocked if he was not one of them because otherwise, he was in too high of a position to not know about anything bad going on. I’m sure he lawyered up, jumped to TIAA and sang like Biggie. I’ll bet he got HIS paper right.

The indictment clearly lays out that all of Sean Combs businesses were a criminal organization. Our current CAO was the former CFO of this criminal organization and helped Combs run all of these businesses. He had to know what was going on since he was the money man. If he didn’t know, that would tell me he was incompetent with his job.

I’m sure El Chapo, Harvey Weinstein, and Jeffrey Epstein had good CFOs too but I don’t see any other Fortune 100 company knocking down their doors to bring them on their Exec Leadership team.

I think people get caught up in being fans of these entertainers and are willing to throw any morals out the door.

He was not named in the indictment. Where did you see that he was involved?

“Derek has been one of my most trusted advisors for nearly 20 years and I know that he will bring the same leadership and expertise to Revolt,” said Combs. “He possesses a deep knowledge and understanding of my businesses that has resulted in some of my most successful deals across all of my brands.“

If he was running Diddy’s businesses for that many years, I would think he’s gonna spend a LOT of time with investigators looking into Diddy. Will he even be able to put in the necessary time to serve TIAA at a time when TIAA needs as much financial stewardship as they ever have before?

Articles and press releases that you can find with a simple google search have Diddy calling the CAO one of his “most trusted advisors for 20 years”. Form your own opinion…

Wow, they really didn’t do a background check on the CAO. Not only did he work for P Diddy for over 20 years, back to 1998 - he also founded and still is the chairman of a “not for profit” cryptocurrency called Vibranium Gold.

I know my way around crypto quite well, and believe me when I say there is absolutely no such thing as a cryto “not-for-profit”.

Knowing the circles the CAO is part of, I can’t help think that the CEO must have overlapping circles. He’s missing true credentials to be the CAO of TIAA. Something’s not adding up in this situation.

Our CAO should have been terminated a long time ago due to the reputational risk.

Just think about it....the indictment is classifying all of Sean Combs' businesses as a criminal enterprise. Our CAO was the CFO over a criminal enterprise (according to the government).

The first step with any investigation of this magnitude is to follow the money trail so you know our CAO will be core to this case. They are going to ask him about how payments were issued to transport s-x workers/pr-------es, how payments were issued for dr-gs, and hush money payments to keep people quiet.

I'm surprised our CEO hasn't cut bait as it is going to get messy.

Embarrassing and disgusting. Even if he is forced out or resigns, there is NO way they ever acknowledge this because they don’t want to admit their poor judgement. They will remain silent. Those poor victims.

I made post about this and it got taken down. He sure knows stuff and probably wrote checks to keep people quiet since he was CFO for big D. Our Temu CEO probably aware of it as well. But hired him anyways. The board needs to do clean up.

Yes 100% this needs to happen. But 0% chance it will or he’ll still make millions in his exit.
