Thread regarding IBM layoffs

If you’re over 40 and laid off, remember:

The EEOC found IBM GUILTY of age discrimination: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/7206573-2020-09-02-IBM-LOD-Amended-Final-1-003.html

There are many articles about this topic: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10511913/IBM-execs-forced-older-staff-make-way-younger-staff.html

Numerous other IBMers have filed lawsuits against IBM: https://www.theregister.com/2020/04/15/ibm_age_discrimination_lawsuit/

If you’re interested in filing a lawsuit, remember you cannot file a lawsuit if you sign for severance. Speak to an attorney first before you do anything. I recommend Wright & Greenhill in Austin who have worked on several high profile cases. (I DO NOT work for them): https://www.wrightgreenhill.com/

If you sign the severance does this still apply?

I wonder if the journalists of the ProPublica piece (which was excellent), Peter Gosselin and Ariana Tobin, would be interested in doing a follow-up.

Tobin appears to still be at ProPublica and features IBM in her bio, along with her contact info:
