Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

Engagement survey

Quite interesting we are doing the engagement survey right in the middle of a re-org. I can guarantee all the pending layoffs are gonna be on hold until after the engagement surveys are complete.

I took the engagement survey before I took a new job outside Cargill and was 100% honest. Felt good!

You have a choice:

  1. Don’t respond and get dinged for lack of participation
  2. Respond honestly about how cr-ppy it is and get dinged.
  3. Respond with a glowing review and keep your job because you make your boss look great. They will tout about how great a job they are doing. No engagement survey is a true reflection when they use an online system to track. How else would they know 60% of the people took it?!

Nothing is anonymous there… I wouldn’t take it and just respond when asked-must have forgotten about it. I would rather tell that lie then lie about how great it is.

I'm assuming they're using it to 1. Establish a baseline when things are cr-ppy so they can declare victory when morale improves after layoffs are a distant memory. 2. Use the data to help inform personnel decisions - i.e. since McKinsey appears to be making all the recommendations, they aren't going to know which managers are good and which are bad, so they'll use the survey data to help make decisions.
