Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

Is the sun setting on ERI

The R&D programs failed and are no more. The programs being touted as research today would barely have qualified as projects in the past. The pipeline of new projects seems to be empty. The supposed to be value in savings to the company seem to based on made up numbers that cause people to stutter and stammer when asked to defend them. Morale is terrible and people wonder if they will have a job next month.

Put ERI out of its misery! There has been literally NOTHING of significance that ERI has done in the last 20+ years. We have been directionless for many years, and the current GM doesn't seem able or willing to provide us a clear vision - just like the 2 previous ones. We have a group of Fellows that have no industry credibility nor any respect from the rest of the organization. We have about 150 employees working primarily on small renewables efforts - which without theft of our tax dollars (i.e. government subsidies & grants) would never be done. The only idea our leadership has is 'ERI as a Service' which will only result in small revenue while helping other companies further their flawed renewable ideas.

Yes, its time to pull the plug on the P66 research center and turn the reigns over to CPC. They at least seem interested in investing in the future of their technologies.

Take the $40MM ERI budget and give it to the refineries - they'll have better use for it than ERI will.
