The bad thing is that you then find out that there are not so many great opportunities out there. I’m clueless as to what to do if I get axed. I guess a change of career is on the table.

I'm in the same boat. Once I'm out of this field, I'm not coming back. It's going to involve a pay cut for sure, but I'll do the best that I can.
