Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How is the PM org/ culture at Ford?

I am considering an offer to join and am not sure how good the practices are / if I would learn and grow by taking the offer.

Honestly, it is just like most other companies. Office politics and glad handing are everywhere. I will say that Ford is the most 'political' of the Detroit 3, thought. Meaning, 'who' you know is more important than 'what' you know.

Just make sure that the job description aligns with your skill set. Or, if you are looking to move into a new field, make sure that you like what the new job entails.

Ever since the smart redesign, and the similar layoffs at GM and Stellantis, people have been rotating around the Detroit 3 like musical chairs.

These are questions you should have asked during your interview. We don’t need another smooth brained koala around here.

Christ...if you are at another automotive OEM then just stay. It's the same or worse. Never any better. Unless the money is stupid insanely more...just stay. If the money is more, plan on staying a year, tolerating the bullsh-t for the bonus and then considering options again. All 3 US OEMs are a sh-t show and anyone that tells you they aren't is blowing smoke. PM is no better than GM. Why would you think Ford would have any hope of being any better?

NO.

Japanese automakers at least listened to Demming after WW2. They took our own best advice and we...ironically...didn't.

Things are great for those on the friends and family plan. For others, not so great.

Let's see, I'm "considering an offer" and I'm going to ask layoff posters for advice?

LOL, stay at GM.
