Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

We are on track to be next Boeing and Intel if we don’t make changes at the top

Looking at recent earnings. All the money we made is either going into dividends or buying back stock to artificially pump the stock by GM and his buddies , instead of reinvesting that money into R&D, Quality, trials etc. while shipping jobs to India and Mexico

This tried and tested formula has a history of never working long term , just ask Intel and Boeing. If we don’t spend money on innovating or improving quality, someone else will innovate and come along to eat our business.

It’s proven by now that Wall Street has no confidence in Excom and Geoff. He has tried and failed miserably ever since he has taken over as CEO.

All our competitors grow and earn 10-15% every year, while we are barely limping at 5%. Bod needs to wake up for real.

Medtronic is outsourcing a lot of engineering jobs to India similar to Boeing. What a disgraceful company.

The R&D pipeline for Surgical (except for robotics) has entirely dried up. I don't know how this company boasts about being "innovators" when we have nothing being developed.

The only thing left to do is leave this company

Agreed, but good luck. BOD is made up of several GE and Boeing execs. The previous and current CEO are former GE managers: Ishrak (nine years as CEO) and Martha (eight years as SVP, EVP and four as CEO). Several other GE employees joined with Ishrak or shortly after and have left their "GE" mark. The irony of Ishrak joining Intel and where they are today should not be lost on anyone.

Including the current CEO, four of Medtronic's Board members are former GE employees: Donnelly (CEO of GE aviation), Arnold (GE for 17 years), and Hogan III. To add insult to injury, even disgraced Boeing ex-CEO Dave Calhoun served on the BOD from 2007 to 2012 and set the table for a full GE takeover.
