I am has been shipping jobs overseaes way beofre AK came in, so nothing new here.
No surprise. My last account all US support was RA's except for a few SDM, DPE, PE IBM used a cheap 3rd party company for anything needed to be touch. That company couldn't reload a Windows 2008 server OS I had to go before my final day
IBM is investing in Kochi in Kerala, not other parts of India. Dinesh is from Kerala which is why Kochi is at the top of the list. All other sites in India are maintain not expand. It is hire first in India, however IBM views labor costs outside of Kerala to be too expensive. When they can't find people in Kochi, IBM find people outside of Kochi and require them to move to Kochi.
To the person that mentioned Apple, they are investing in India too.

And I don't think US investors give a cr-p about who works for (and were they work) a company they are investing in.
It takes 6 engineers in India to perform the task an engineer in the US performs. We were 4 people handling a project in the US. In India, they created a department staffed with about 30 people to handle the same task.
Just more waste, fraud and abuse of US shareholder money in another Third World worthless economy due to CEO's pathetic background and alliance to his motherland. It will just result in another bloated bureaucracy and nothing else.
Why didn't Apple invest a whole lot in India ?
