15 years back, Cisco is much better place to work than Oracle.
Now, look at OCI and their employees. Cisco is no where a close, Cisco lost the game to many other employers

15 years ago Cisco was still in the throws of the 2007/2008 economic collapse and it su-ked so bad with 8 years of often quarterly layoffs, incompetent leadership and even more incompetent software development many quit taking big pay cuts just to get out and work on something that would advance their careers.
Cisco was in a unique position to triumph over others at the confluence of UCS compute and their skill in deploying complex networks.
De plane! De plane! Unlike the show far too few of you learn a valuable lesson at the end.
Remember when Cisco thought they were going to win the cloud game, they had multiple failed cloud dealers and ultimately thought they would win as an arms dealer instead of a cloud IaaS farmer like OCI/AWS/MSFT/etc..
Cisco was in a unique position to triumph over others at the confluence of UCS compute and their skill in deploying complex networks. They could have been so much more, or maybe they made the right move. Only JC/CR know. GeeToo and his legacy of failure wasn’t even a glimmer in their eyes yet.
