Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

There is no escape oil is dead and outsourced.

Ok we all know exxon s ucks with its bad management and unfair ranking system. So if you are like me you are planning your escape. If your not you had better be. Ok so where to go after retirement, piping or quiting ? Shell is laying off 20% and I heard it is an absolute sh-t show. Chevron is going through restructuring and reorgs not a good sign. The service companies like baker and champion pay low and it is not fun to work there as well. For I will escape to my first love the medical field. For the rest you may be able to transfer your skills to manufacturing or production. The outsourcing of all of our jobs is increasing. First it was just research that was being moved to india now it is exploration and engineering. Soon we will be a shell corporation based in the US with all workers in india. Exxon should find a way to import indians, africans, mexicans or any other destitute peoples to work in the refineries and chem plants. It is only getting worse so have your escape plan ready. I will be sure to be extra gentle with dareen s and all the other exces prostate exams. I will as gentle as they were with me. NOT

Is systematically paying engineers 25% of the standard salary based solely on the engineer’s nationality illegal or just unethical?

Asking for a friend?

Having different racial groups or just varied perspectives is a benefit to a company.

Showing obvious preference and forcing a “target distribution” of any particular group is artificial and negative benefit, no matter which group benefits from that target distribution.

You don’t work for the company.

STFU

And you are racists too. Having a diverse workforce is a benefit to any company. So please refrain from making comments about different racial groups. Our company is better because of it.

There are yearly layoffs pip. PIPing will continue forever. Constant turnover with new people. Some only stay a few months or years then leave. Constant downsizing and head count reductions. I remember when exxon was one of the largest employers in the world. employee figures of 100000 to 80000 at one time now we are 40 to 60 thousand. If they had their way it would be one employee with 40000 contractors.

I don’t think Exxon will have anymore layoffs in the near term. The new Exxon is like the Exxon of 20 years ago where they simply refused to hire even when projects and work with great returns were being dropped due to resourcing. They lost their way just before Covid and hired a buttload of people that eventually were fired or PiPd which of course sank morale.
