I initially thought that doing layoffs through organized phases was a good idea. Not so much anymore. I wish now they did everything in one go. Going for weeks and not knowing if you will lose the job does a real number on morale and focus, and most importantly, on our health and well-being.

I went through this last layoff round in Feb. Use the next 2-3 weeks to update your resume. Weather you are part of the layoff or not use this time to get prepared.
"Do you come from a region in the world where employees are treated as second class citizens? Things generally do not work that way here in the US. Here there are some laws that actually offer some protection to employees. Question to you: Besides losing a paycheck, what else will you lose if you and P+ become separated? A work visa? Your comments are a telltale sign of this."
Have you ever left the US? We have no employee rights compared to England, France, Spain, Germany etc. Why do you think International was not included? It was too hard to dire people so quick.
It is difficult for both sides, but I would say however scary it is for the people who still there - use this time to find another position don't just wait and hope - be pro-active. I was laid off after the great superbowl, it is rough out there, over 20 years I gave this company, now I have to move because I can't afford my apartment of 25 years and my disabled son will no longer have medical insurance, my life has turned into a shi*show because I put my faith into a company that I truly thought had my back in return for my hard work and loyalty. They don't care about you!
"They pay me to the work, and I will do the work I am paid for. I may get a layoff, I may not, but as long as they still pay me, I owe them my labor until they stop.
It’s just basic integrity."

@1rek+1ufIfOif I see many contractors that have quiet quit years ago LONG before any layoffs were announces. Stick to the news fool!
To the troll lecturing on integrity. Shouldn’t you be doing work instead of being here making ppl’s lives more miserable than they already are? Talk about being a sadist. Shouldn’t you. He kissing the 3 CEOs where the sun don’t shine?
"How naive. Maybe you're the one who hasn't been around long enough, Or maybe your work visa depends on this job and that's why you talk this way. Either way no one is going to work themselves to death just because you say so."
Who said "work themselves to death"? if that is what your division is doing to you then why are you still here? I would have left a long time ago.
PR here...quiet quitting doesn't just affect you; it drains the team's energy and morale.

@qas+1ufIfOif How altruistic of you. It's called "employment at will". They can fire you for whatever reason, just in the same way you can leave whenever you want. Cut that "integrity" bullsh-t. The only thanks you get from any company is a paycheck. Whether you work 8 or 20 hours a day, you still get paid the same amount. Also what if you're in the group that's getting laid off? Aren't you worried about searching for another job just in case? Just come clean as to the reasons why you feel so beholden to P+.
"And what if the company doesn’t afford you that same integrity back? To hang layoffs over everyone’s head since December isn’t integrity. To fire a chunk of people right after getting them to work the Super Bowl madness isn’t integrity.
Wake up. Integrity towards a corporation that’s mistreating you is just going to get you the same pink slip as me. They don’t care about you, and Sky Dance isn’t going to keep any of us anyway. They will work you into the grave for the sake of shareholder value as long as you let them."
You sound like you have a major chip. Maybe YOU feel that way but the company doesn't owe me anything but my pay. They pay me to do a job and I do it. If they choose they need to move on from me. they have the right or if I want to move on from them that's my right. My integrity is important and I am going to do the job I get paid to do. No mass layoff is personal it's a part of working at a large company. You sound like you might be starting your career and my advice is get used to it. SkyDance is a company of 500 people merging with a company of over 25,000 people. They need the people so don't expect mass layoffs.

“You owe the company nothing.“

“Because we are getting paid to do a job. At the end of the day the majority are not getting cut and life has to go on. Most people have mouths to feed and families to take care of. It stinks but so does this whole thing.”
Counterpoint: What are they going to do if you don’t work as usual? Fire you?
You owe the company nothing.
Everyone should take advantage of the last Summer Friday tomorrow and Monday's holiday if you can. I hope you can not think about this sh-t show and enjoy a long weekend. Hang in there!
"I don’t understand how people are working and attending meetings as if nothing is happening."

"Contractors are getting advance notice of a 9/30 end date. Why not FTE?"
I am sure it is because of contractual obligations. Unfortunately living in the US we have no protections of significance as FTEs
I don’t understand how people are working and attending meetings as if nothing is happening. 😕

i've been working 14 hour days, since i was one of the 'leftovers' that got 'saved' after my entire team got hit. its so stressful. i am so depressed. and there's been zero word of if since i was spared the first time i'll be spared the 2nd time. talk about anxiety.
In same boat . Working in remote from different state I don’t know whether I will get paid as part of WARN act as like others working from office . And not able to concentrate in work to complete it nor able to walk out of this Job easily too !!
Waiting for that day !
My physical and mental health are circling the drain, I am praying I get laid off at this point because I need a paid vacation while I get back to baseline and find a new, more fulfilling career that actually serves humanity or the planet, rather than these evil billionaire nepo babies who want to profit off everyone glued to a screen, slack jawed zombified self-soothing with mindless content consumption.
It does absolutely su-k, but I plan to stick around and see if I survive and either take the severance and move on, or hang in there and see if Skydance can run things any better.
I know that's cautious optimism at best and cognitive dissonance at worst.
Its been torture.
It's horrible.
I am really struggling.
