Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

T's Hypocrisy

Is anyone else having trouble reconciling T's stated love and support of working class individuals and emphasis on how they should be taken care of and respected and given the opportunity to retire comfortably with the fact that she's booting a ridiculous amount of Rosie and Otis Browns out of their pensions and their benefits by telling them you either go to a company that is NOT going to take care of you or you can quit with nothing so TIAA can cut costs and 1) line the pockets of the EC, 2) chop everything up for cheap sale to Chase, or 3) both.

Someone please make it make sense.

My favorite is when T talks about the retirement and wage gap while covered head to toe in a hideous all-designer outfit. One that costs more than more Americans have saved for retirement. Hypocrisy at its finest!

Injecting irrelevant complaints about your political beliefs just makes everyone here complaining look stupid. Please stop doing that. These are issues with the company and the terrible executive leadership, not with whatever politician you’re trying to shade.

Oh FFS, if your best comment is she learned it from Kamala, maybe you should reevaluate if your brain has been turned on to even do your job. Because that is a middle school level response.

Let me preface this with this that this was done and announced in the most obnoxious way possible especially for Denver individuals. It's a pathetic excuse for our values that don't exist anymore. There is no reason we couldn't have flipped the announcements and not had people thinking they were going to be able to leave with there pension and than find a new job.

When you look at our costs they are too high, it's 2024 we can't be manually processing things and using excel to do this work. Because of that we are way the he-l behind. We have tried incredibly hard to catch up, but the EC every year blows up our funding for strategic work or won't invest to make it better. These cuts were coming at some point we just couldn't do it fast enough for it to be worthwhile from a decrease in funding.

I feel really bad for all the people that are moving I know it's not going to be as good to start out, but I hope that with a company that has 750k jobs that everyone tries to post out because they will have hundreds of more options than TIAA ever did to get out of processing.

If you knew you were going to disrupt the lives of a bunch of black and brown people who better to do it?

Also shout out to the cheering weirdos at the meeting.
