Can’t the impacted people apply for the new internal job posting ? Are Recruiters rejecting because of the impending layoff

Anyone applied and had the recruiter rejecting it with “not meeting the qualifications “ statement for the job posting closely related your current job ? Is there any option in this case once rejected by the recruiter

Ehm why do you contact the recruiter? The job posting has the manager name. Send your resume directly to him!

All waste of time. Once you are tagged with LR the HM and recruiters take an excuse and reject with some or other reason. HM and their leadership don't want to hire and come under radar but want to keep their head cu-t low.
All hiring are happening at the discretion of HM and their choice or already pre-set
So far more than 95% internal jobs were staged and orchedtrated interviews and finally onboard candiate already decided

Unless you have really good friends in high places at Cisco, don't count on getting another internal job once you have been "tagged" by the LR. Most managers won't touch you with a 10 foot pole. Sure they'll give you lip service and talk to you, but it's zero action when it counts. Anyone with reqs is just waiting for the LR 60 day clock to run out.

Apparently there's a lot of postings that are not "ghost" posts and do have funding. Cisco posted 72 pages of job positions w/ the phrase "multiple positions are available" in the lobby of RTP bldg 8 for H1B jobs. But Cisco has already decided that they'll be hiring H1Bs instead of current employees being LR'd because these jobs were posted the day after the earnings call.

3-4 people saved is nothing to sneeze about. Too many folks contesting for too few jobs… and managers have their own preferred people, too. Unless you sleep or dating hiring manager, don’t expect much traction (literally).

I've seen 3-4 people saved from LR by getting internal reqs and moving into another team over the years of LRs. Some of them are real roles and the managers really do want to rescue good employees that they can help out.

Takes a lot of networking and smoozing and having some good friends.

You're most likely to get internal roles if your position is actually being eliminated (and your boss likes your work). The new boss will talk to your old boss and if you did well at your old position they may hire you.

Also helps to have any good friends vouch for you.

Most open reqs are going to be placed on hold or cancelled. Eveything is getting reviewed at the ELT level this week. If a requisition is posted and you are internal, the recruiter and hiring manager names are posted to you. Reach out to them

I applied internally, but I didn't receive any response...

I applied for something and got a simple "we won't be moving forward with you (but they may reach out for other roles)" response.

You can try, but don’t hope much. Most of these jobs are ghost posting to keep recruiters employed, managers collecting resumes, and job seekers busy dreaming, and working hard to prepare resume, talking to recruiters and interviewers if lucky, to reinforce why they are so qualified for these few ghost positions. Fun all around, Cisco machine that keeps everyone on toe and guessing.

This is standard practice, and happened to me during a past LR. The recruiters are all on contract, and have limited knowledge of the roles. I got the same canned response within minutes of my application, for a role that was THE EXACT SAME role I had, just with a different BU.
Many of them aren’t legit job openings. These reqs will be cancelled, or the hiring manager already has a candidate in mind, but they are running the clock out for the mandatory internal-only period.

Most internal job postings don't actually have funding. They are for collecting resume.
