What’s going on with Vision? Seems like the whole operation is kind of adrift as of the last 6-12 months.
Without giving too many details, everything just seems rather chaotic lately.

So, if you are working at a Walmart Vision Center and don’t like it, why don’t you just quit and find work somewhere else? Is working for Walmart so prestigious that you’d stay there if you didn’t like it?
The sad truth is most people that work anywhere inside Walmart Corp are working there because their employment options are severely limited. They just don’t have skills or motivation enough to work anywhere else.
Haha...bonus?? They have been promising VCM's something good since 2021 when they adjusted the associates pay but not ours. I will believe it when I see it! Damn pharmacy is all they care about!
The problem is 60-70% markups, they would make more and sell more if prices were lower. Vision centers are way over priced compared to online markets. They have too many people sitting on their rear ends while watching everyone else in the store work their rear ends to the bone
Every time I got glasses at the vision center, they were made wrong, lenses scratched, wrong lenses, frame broke in a week, unfriendly people, rude dr. I don’t go there anymore. I trust my eyes and go to a local dr.
Actually, Vision is doing pretty good. Supposedly, there’s a new bonus plan just for Vision Associates that’s going to be rolled out for YBM next year.
Honestly? I would not be shocked if they shut the entire operation down within the next 6-12 months. Just like the health clinics. There are so many operational red flags pointing to this.
MAYBE they will sell it off to luxottica or Warby.

That’s what happens when the guy in charge doesn’t really know what he’s doing… I’m sure there’s gonna be more cuts to hours they will need to bring profit up. Not realizing that home office does not support vision, it’s incredible that they have a department that has 60-70% markups and they don’t support it.
