I was employed by PepsiCo for 40 years. I was told by another PepsiCo employee that the day your hired a g-n is fired and the bullet chases you your entire career but it will catch you eventually.

November 2nd. Mind you the manager, locations and team I support will be left high and dry. I know the beverages and snacks will make it to the shelves but I find it poor business decisions to manage a company without consideration of the fall out left behind. I have 10 days to clear out. Started in 1988 and mostly positive experience. The last 2 - 3 years flailing and inundated with nonsensical processes and headbanging in the current technology environment.
I have been so enlightened by this chat space because I have a better understanding of why and how this company has been turned upside down. Keep throwing spaghetti at the wall to see if it sticks!

I have been working on project work for the past 12 years. Not a single thing has changed or came to life. Taking the year bonus pay and getting out of here. Felt pretty good to not accomplish anything and stay employed for over 40 years.
My secret was to take each day as another day I won the lottery. Eventually I wouldn't win, it let me live stress free. I found when I stayed away from Plano and didn't talk to my peers they gave me better year ends. If you stay away from people who inevitably are going to talk about you, you'll be able to slide under the radar for hopefully ever.
Anyway, made it 40+ didn't do anything the entire time and got to raise a wonderful family. Project work is the secret to stress free. The less you do in these project roles the less you're to blame.
