If customer data is leaked, it’s a distinction without a difference in terms of customer sentiment, though it may keep them out of legal trouble.

While anything is possible, this appears to be a breach of a subcontractor not Cisco directly.

That seems unlikely…

Any smart employee knows this could be tracked down to an account / employee - and while Cisco might not have great engineering anymore, it has excellent lawyers and connections in Govt…

That said I did come across the odd recently hired and then fired employees who really were pi---d enough to do anything….

There's nothing to point to a disgruntled employee. Is it possible? Of course. Do we know that's the case from what is publicly know? Absolutely not.

There is enough detail here to point to a recently let go employee. If it is a case they leaked the data, then they did a very poor effort of covering tracks
