You're the only one who's in charge of your life. I understand this is the place for people to vent, but if you're just venting and not doing anything to change your situation, what's the point? Personally, I'm here because I'm still hoping to get severance. But I'll be gone within the next 12 months whether that happens or not. What's keeping you here?

A passionate work affair.
I’m here cause you’re still here.
I'm just here for the next 6 months collecting a paycheck while I study and continue building skills for my resume in prep for the eventual LR.
Lots of older employees here who will be in dire straits post-Cisco, so we might as well keep taking paychecks
They taught things like functional decomposition and refactoring in high school programming courses in the 1970s, and yet Cisco's cut and pasted monstrosities filled with multi-thousand line data structures and functions shows many of you never developed those skills. The vast majority of the development budget went to bug fixing so by definition most of you are spending most of your time not developing new features. At least in software Cisco is a bad company to work for no matter what phase of your career you are in.
Know your worth
some people are trapped at Cisco, and people don't seem to understand that. if you are aligned to a toxic management team on a legacy technology... you can't transfer internally and recruiters want nothing to do with you
The last layoffs and the following motivation speech from my director left me without any hope for my org (in CX)
Old timer here and till this August I still had hope the technical part of cx could play a vital role however this is utopia.
So why I am still here , to cash the paycheck. Unlikely we will still make an impact but at this moment i will skip this cycle of fighting for the right thing to do.
I'm an older techie so I recognize my next job will be harder to get due to ageism

And as bad as the company is, I like my team
But yeah, I'm basically waiting for the severance in the next year
If they offered a buyout to me now, I would take it
