Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Things are so messed up

It really speaks volumes about the situation at Canon when some people are more afraid of keeping their jobs than losing them. For many, the biggest fear is not being laid off, but staying on the job, stuck in an environment that's stressful, uncertain, and overwhelming. That says a lot about how bad things have gotten.

For all the hard work and pushing in Q3, some of our bonuses were not made. So much for picking up the slack.

The CEOs Friday HQ visit (office days Monday and Wednesday) is starting to look like a cult following. I’m out.

PPS is getting worse! Sales and professional services are completely toxic. I was on a call where the guy who runs the sales for prostream was so rude to the local that the call was cut short. It’s crazy how management lets this continue all in the face of this reorganization. I mind blowing how messed up this is.

Yes you can leave any company you don’t like. I think the point here is to raise awareness of the toxic culture that management has in cusa and csa. People should be made aware of the sugarcoating and shady business operations so that they can make an informed decision to exit on their own or be caught totally off guard like the many impacted in July.

The last replier is clearly an executive or HR troll. You can post on here and work long hours, pal. I just put in a 12-hour day. Now it’s time for me to unwind. I don’t need to be blasting off emails at 1:00 AM like some big heads who are clearly under qualified and milk their job titles to fill their egos.

Most of these comments are comical. People this is corporate America this happens everywhere. Instead of wasting time posting and thinking you are fortune tellers, focus on your jobs and if you give your jobs enough focus as you do on this site you may grow in the company! If you don't like your job, it's called America and you have the freedom to leave and venture off and look for something else. However, I can assure you nothing will change in terms of other companies not going through restructuring, etc....

My department is a mess, short handed moral is lost. Clean off your desk, dress differently for the one minute Sammy was in the office.. canon is always trying to fake it until they make it.

The stress is being moved from manager to manger over the past 3 months. The parting story is that HR wants to make sure every manager has 5 reports. It's crazy, we just got rid of people, but managers don't have enough direct reports, what's up with that? My new manager has never managed a field team, and his director was laid off. What's even more stressful is that sales managers are driving him with no thought of how to solve a customer problem, just throw a resource at it.
