Nervous and concerned as people I know who performed well got laid off in October. And there seems no notice period. Basically same day notice then you are out. So, it is really happening exactly as those earlier posts predicted. If we haven't get laid off by now are we safe? There is no email communication from the leaders regarding this round of cuts. When does it ends?

Just got let go from the Cambridge Location along with a few more guys…unexpected. Decent severance package.
Next quarter another lay offs should be on, and this is confirmed. Now , it is quarter by quarter, not the fiscal year.
If we are honest, this could have been avoided for the most part. Yes, sometimes a small amount of rifs is not the worst thing for a company. But eliminating 8% of your workforce and seeing all your solid, tenured talent leave over the last 5 years and replaced by far less competent sr leadership is the result of the Blake and Becky show. Ultimately, stock price is the same as the Emerson offer in 2017. $225 offer today. At 5% growth would be $316 today. Is that the stock price. Also, arguably $3b in acquisitions that aren’t paying back (some acquisitions they did are good), with plex being the largest d-mb move. Blake is not a good ceo, he is not intelligent enough to effectively run the business and he is a narcissist. Just look at all the vp and above talent that has left the company before they needed to.
Blake needs to go. He is not a good leader for this company. He is just worried about his own pockets. He has plenty of money. Why does he not step up and take a $1 salary with no bonus for a year or two to help the company out. Blake, Scott, Veena. They all need to be shown the exit.
My guess is it doesn't end until they have like 6 good quarters. We live and die by shareholder sentiment. They will just continue to cut high cost employees slowly and without notice so it doesn't make waves or news, Offshoring a few roles at a time. Not just the rank and file now. All sorts of directors, managers, vps are going away with all the restructuring. Now if we could just do away with blake and the rest of them. I'm ready for a change.
The question was more of "when does this round of cuts end". Maybe til early Nov when the Q4 all employees email come out? Just guessing. In Q2 when they did the 3% cut, Blakes said he will make the layoff fast to minimized the impact.
sadly it’s not going to end. This company sees each of us, our careers, our loyalty and dedication, as nothing more than expenses that can be very easily cut to make up for a slow quarter and incompetent exec leadership team, grossly complacent salesforce led by a clown. It is now a pattern. A convenient solution for improving margins and maintaining shareholder value. It will happen every quarter. There are already many people identified for exits in Q2. They trickle it out like this so that they don’t have to give Warn Act postings. What is NOT okay is the severance being provided. One week for each year worked. You remember that when you get asked to work above and beyond this year or return to office. You’ll get weeks pay when they cut you. F this place and go get yourself a union job.
It ends when there are no humans working and AI has taken over every single job, and takes over the world when AI is used by countries (for power), corporations (for greed/money) and by criminals (for power and money) to brainwash the human mind by using AI in a physiological way by repeating and repeating and repeating, until majority of the humans think it's the true fact (like drinking bleach will get rid of covid or FEMA is no where to be found where hurricane Helena hit). At least those who are older can still distinguish between the truth and false, but the future generation where AI will be feeding the information to the human (brain) from all the data that's been collected and rewritting it's own code and twist the data in a false manner where that false statement will be taught as the truth to all the young folks.
We are the lucky generation, where we have lived without AI for some time and understand the difference between true and false. We are able to experience what it means to work for money. We are able to communicate our thoughts freely without every electronic listening and monitoring us. Even if we are laid off, we still have a chance to find a job and put away some savings for retirement.
You can already see how AI is taking over many tech jobs. AI is now able to write it's own code, modify it's own algorithms and generate it's own algorithms. It has been feed lots of data and hungry for more. It can continuously tell you lies (on purpose) to make you believe the lie is the truth.
I can't write anymore. It is making me sad that humanity is ki-ling itself. If humans don't work, there will be extreme poverty and crime. They say AI will create millions of jobs, but just look at the tech layoff right now and AI is just getting started. I feel sad for future generations.
