Took getting out to realize that not all workplaces are toxic like Schwab right now. It wasn't always that way, but mergers tend to applify the internal competitiveness. Turns out there are businesses that actually care about their employees being happy. So, just sending a reminder to those that need to hear this, it does get better once you are outside of Schwab. What is the point of taking a survey about the company if it only impacts your manager
When you are perfect, you just want people around who will tell you you’re perfect. The EC is perfect in their minds. Just ask. It’s always the media, market or moon phase that’s the problem.
The surveys are anonymous. But it isn’t hard to figure out with smaller teams and unique geography. We see lots of metadata.
Not filling it out is looked down upon, but not as badly as a low score.
Not filled out, unless someone is on sabbatical or leave, means I failed as a manager. A low score becomes a game. Do they want to make me look bad or can it be explained away? If I’m on the list a low score is just more ammo against me as a PL. it never reflects on a SVP. If I’m well regarded a low score means the employee didn’t understand or has issues.
The best thing to do? Don’t look at Glint as anything more than curtains in a pig pen.
Yep! That's exactly what I'm doing -- looking elsewhere to get away from this toxic environment. This hostility towards feedback is the most backward, authoritarian work situation I have ever encountered. And thanks for the luck, I'll need it, the job market is pretty rough right now, hoping it gets better soon.

I’m sorry to hear you find yourself under written warning. Schwab is definitely not TDA. Schwab may say through the clients eyes but in reality they haven’t cared about the clients in many years. Stop suggesting improvements, leadership doesn’t want feedback and they certainly don’t want someone from TDA telling them they have a better idea, Schwab is king of “well this is just the way we’ve always done it”. Please stop thinking they care that you are overwhelmed and overworked, they really don’t. Keep your head down, do your job and look elsewhere, Schwab doesn’t care what you think or how you feel. Please don’t think they will and stop trying so hard, that may make it a bit easier to get through each day. Good luck and I hope you find a better job.

Any time you provide feedback you are labeled a dissident. Negative glint surveys get you retaliated against not improvement. I know several people who had to write “essays” after they submitted 2s. They are not anonymous and they know who doesn’t fill one out which is also looked down at

By the way, are there many employees getting put on written warnings with false claims lately? Having come from TDA having only Exceeded Expectations reviews, I find myself under a written warning. Things started turning left for me when I suggested more efficient ways to do a couple of different processes back in June / July that would help alleviate the massive workload that I was (and am still) experiencing, and I also thought it would be considered “seeing through clients’ eyes”.

Flagging means you are dismissed immediately. It’s a d-mb policy that assumes leaving employees will only take records and information in the notice period.
You are not precluded from rehire.
They walk you out that day no 2 weeks

Likely. Policy is to flag anyone going to a competitive or industry firm.
If I'm hired into a non-client-facing role at another financial firm, will I have to leave without a full notice period?

OK HR!! Whatever you say. This maybe the clearest proof of how bad Schwab is: sending HR into a message board to blame everyone else.
This board is toxic, filled with victim takes on an employer that isn’t forced upon any of us.
Leave. Quit. Do it for your happiness, especially if your team is toxic. Recognize that you are part of the cause of this toxicity - you’re spreading it to others.
Find and recognize the positive aspects about your life - it may make you more happy. Seems like a change may be warranted.
I agree! I left last year before RTO and can say in my decades of being employed that Schwab was the most toxic place I’ve ever worked.
This board is toxic not Schwab. If you are new to the company, then you are still in the honeymoon phase. All companies have their issues.
