Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Too much Junk!!!

How many comforters and blankets are truly necessary? We currently have an overwhelming surplus of bedding that is proving difficult to sell. Small retailers are struggling with limited storage space, especially as we attempt to display our Christmas merchandise alongside it. My store is filled to capacity with both clearance items and regular-priced products.

If the outlets aim to remain viable, it would be beneficial for them to permit stores with excess inventory to send their clearance items directly to the outlets. Don, it’s crucial to exercise better control over unnecessary expenditures and focus on the quality of the products being purchased by your buyers.

and the outlet stores are not all full. the outlets should be jam packed, not the regular full line stores.

We were on a call yesterday where the RVP suggested that sales associates should offer a personalized shopping experience to our customers. I began to laugh, luckily my phone was on mute. Are RVP's, GVP's and to some extent some brainwashed store managers that out of touch with reality?

@op1usz

Honey, Don is one of the worst retail CEO's in the United States, he ranks up there with Eddie Lampert from now defunct Sears.

From what I have observed over the past few years, the buyers buy TOO much of the wrong merchandise. It’s cheap, ugly and doesn’t sell.
