Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Software at Intel Su-ks

Are any of the Intel software engineers still at the company going to be able to get any good jobs after these laid offs? Most software we’ve seen at Intel is amateur at best. The few good software people have been poached by big tech already… anyone left behind will have a hard time landing any kind of coding job. Very tough job market environment with all the coding interviews at Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, etc…

Best SW strategy for Intel is to grow the OpenCL ecosystem to make it on par with CUDA. AMD hasn't been able to do it. Start off by making Pytorch, Stable Diffusion, etc. have the same functionality with OpenCL.

Challenge to codewars since you like to run your mouth. Accomplish something before talking cr-p about things you know nothing about.

I glad somebody finally said it out loud. We have all been threatened with demotion, relocation or just plain getting fired for saying that. "Stay in your own fu--ing lane" Pat

That's because software engineers in embedded are just provisioning registers, which is the most braindead form of programming.

I agree, intel software is terrible. Confusing / not at all user friendly, very slow, buggy - as in apps randomly stop working, constant "upgrades" that don't work or makes apps even more confusing, links to applications are ever broken, installing applications randomly error out, the slowness of the networks don't help either. Ever tried searching circuit? Complete joke.

There’s lots of jobs, just downleveled from where Intel employees are.

Intel’s title inflation crashes hard in the real world.
